NAWA, the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange was established on October 1st, 2017. Its mission is to strengthen Polish science and higher education through international exchange and cooperation. NAWA supports academic mobility, the promotion of Polish language and culture abroad, and enhances Poland's presence in the global academic community. The agency adapts to academic challenges, contributing to Poland's scientific, cultural and economic development while providing transparent opportunities for the entire academic community.
NAWA UNIVERSEH Plus! is an excellent complement to the planned UNIVERSEH activities, with a strong focus on the sustainability and long-term development of the alliance and the project itself. Complementation involves the implementation of tasks not foreseen within the UNIVERSEH consortium but having significant added value for the alliance. The extension of innovative aspects of activities refers to the implementation of tasks foreseen in the UNIVERSEH agreement but at a higher level than the UNIVERSEH funding allows. The entire project operates within the framework: excellence–impact–implementation. The sustainability and long-term development dimension will primarily be achieved by focusing on the long-term impact and durability of the project’s actions.
Horizontally, the tasks of UNIVERSEH Plus! address the challenges facing the entire consortium and respond to the needs of the UNIVERSEH work packages:
Task 1. Research and teaching projects
This task will enable the development of innovative teaching methods and support the virtual mobility of students and staff, allowing them to participate in virtual simulations, visit virtual laboratories, and explore research spaces in different countries.
Task 2. Organization of international conferences
CTH AGH will organize its flagship conferences, which have a long-standing tradition: Space Resources Conference, European Rover Challenge (ERC), and a new multidisciplinary conference devoted to the role of English in creating a European University in the context of science, education, and administration.
Task 3. Development of competencies of academic and non-academic staff in obtaining UNIVERSEH development funding
This task will address the sustainability aspect of UNIVERSEH by providing intensive support for the successful preparation of new grant applications and enhancing the skills of individuals involved in this process.
Task 4. Short-term mobility of AGH students and staff
This task will implement the mobility dimension of UNIVERSEH. Focusing on students, it will also support academic and non-academic staff at AGH, enabling their participation in various events related to their work or the space sector.
Task 5. Visiting researcher – study visits of invited foreign experts
Visits by international guests to AGH will enhance the internationalization of the academic community on-site, rather than through individual outbound trips.
Task 6. Dissemination of information about the project and UNIVERSEH educational offer, building a profile on the international education market
This task will cover both the promotion of the UNIVERSEH Plus! project and the UNIVERSEH educational offer, as well as building the profile of the Space Technology Centre on the international stage.
UNIVERSEH Open is an excellent complement to the planned UNIVERSEH activities, with a strong focus on sustainability, long-term development, and the transfer of the Space Technology Centre to the Faculty of Space Technologies. Complementation involves the implementation of tasks not foreseen within the UNIVERSEH consortium but having significant added value for the alliance. The extension of innovative aspects of activities refers to the implementation of tasks foreseen in the UNIVERSEH agreement, but at a higher level than the UNIVERSEH funding allows.
The entire project will operate within the framework: excellence–impact–implementation. The sustainability and long-term development dimension will primarily be achieved by focusing on the long-term impact and durability of the project’s actions.
Horizontally, the tasks of UNIVERSEH Open address the challenges facing the Space Technology Centre:
Task 1. Organization of international conferences
This task will implement two international events: the European Rover Challenge (ERC) and the conference part of the Doctoral School.
Task 2. Missions in the Habitat
This task will develop a program of analog space missions, which will become an integral part of the curriculum at the Faculty of Space Technologies.
Task 3. Participation in activities allowing the acquisition of competencies for staff and students
Task 4. Development of modern teaching materials
Graphic design of teaching materials according to the latest trends.
Task 5. Promotion of the project and educational offer, building a profile on the international education market, seeking new partners for cooperation
Task 6. Participation in UNIVERSEH project working meetings
Similarly to UNIVERSEH Plus!, UNIVERSEH Open will complement UNIVERSEH activities and add a synergistic dimension to the alliance’s actions by implementing tasks not foreseen within the UNIVERSEH consortium but having significant added value for the alliance.
UNIVERSEH Open will implement activities that are not structurally funded by UNIVERSEH, whose effectiveness has already been confirmed in the previous edition of the Support for European Universities competition (organization of international conferences, mobility, and working trips), or that are already at an advanced stage of development and whose implementation is not associated with risk (implementation of an already developed, modern form of teaching, such as practical classes in the Habitat, or graphic materials for already prepared teaching programs).
Furthermore, the project activities will aim to directly support the transition of the Space Technology Centre into the Faculty of Space Technologies, with particular emphasis on promoting the Faculty internationally and within the UNIVERSEH Alliance, as well as increasing its internationalization.
The project tasks will be implemented in accordance with the EU horizontal policies:
1. Equal opportunities and non-discrimination
2. Gender equality
3. Sustainable development
4. Do No Significant Harm (DNSH) principle
5. Partnership and multi-level governance
Organized by the Space Technology Centre, the Space Resources Conference brings together leading international researchers, professionals, and students to cultivate a free exchange of ideas and practices. The Space Resources Conference provides an open forum for discussing state-of-the-art technologies applicable to current challenges of space exploration and using space resources to improve human living conditions and protect Earth’s natural environment.
The European Rover Challenge (ERC) is a prestigious international competition of Mars rovers aimed at students from around the world who design and build rovers as part of academic teams. The competition simulates space missions on the surface of Mars, and teams compete in various challenges. The event also includes a scientific conference and an exhibitors' zone, where participants and visitors can learn about the activities of companies and institutions related to the space sector.
Organized by the Space Technology Centre and the WP2 UNIVERSEH Academy Team, this multidisciplinary conference focuses on the role of English in European University alliances. The event explores how English functions as a shared medium for communication and collaboration in science, education, and administration, while also addressing the challenges of multilingual and multicultural academic environments. Discussions will highlight best practices in fostering inclusivity and supporting English-medium instruction across diverse linguistic contexts.
