About the seminar:
“In applications where light weight and material sustainability is important, nano-scale coatings are sought which would perform as well as or better than thick coatings or volumetric material, such as powders. In my team we have been using the vacuum deposition technique of magnetron sputtering to develop various porous coatings with different morphologies and optical, structural and chemical properties. I will present a cross-section through the self-assembled materials obtained this way, including porous oxides and metals and talk about their possible applications in energy storage, sensing, photocatalysis and as functional coatings.”
